Before the RCB vs Hyderabad match played in Bengaluru on Tuesday, more than 13 thousand T-20 matches had been played. But this happened for the first time when around 550 runs were scored in a single T-20 match. Many records were broken in this match.
Travis Head scored the fastest century for Hyderabad in the IPL, hit the most sixes in a single innings of the IPL and also made the highest score in a single innings of the IPL.

But amidst all these records, a 38 year old veteran cricketer
played a memorable inning and presented his challenge to join the Indian team in
the T20 World Cup.
In reply to Hyderabad's 287 runs at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru tried
their best but fell 25 runs short of victory.
It rained runs in Bengaluru:
While discussing the pitch report before the match, Kevin Pietersen said that the
bowlers will also get help on this pitch. In the final overs of the match, as
the big score completely disproved Pietersen's analysis, he said, albeit
jokingly, that he was retiring from pitch reporting.
In the match, Sunrisers Hyderabad batted first and Abhishek Sharma-Travis Head
gave a great start to the team. When Sharma was out after scoring 34 runs in the
ninth over, Hyderabad had scored more than 100 runs. Travis Head completed his
hundred runs in just 39 balls. This was the fourth fastest century in IPL and
the fastest for Hyderabad.
Former cricketer and commentator Zaheer Khan said that Head batted according to
a plan. He said, “Head was not trying to hit every ball but was playing shots
after understanding the pitch and field placement. In the middle of his innings,
when the Bengaluru team made a slight change in the bowling and bowled outside
the off-stump, he also changed the shots.
Head was out after scoring 102 runs on 41 balls. In this innings he hit 9 fours
and 8 sixes.
After Travis Head, Klaasen took the responsibility and scored 61 runs in 31
balls. Aidan Markram and Abdul Samad also played brilliant innings and Hyderabad
scored 287 runs for 3 wickets in 20 overs.
A few days ago, the same Hyderabad team had made the best score of an innings in
IPL by scoring 277 runs against Mumbai and on Tuesday they further improved
their own record.
A total of 22 sixes were hit in this innings which became a new record. After
his innings, Travis Head said that the wicket was easy to bat on and he took
full advantage of it.
Head is a thorn in the path of Indian team
If you take your eyes off this match, you will see how much of a big match player
Travis Head is. If the Indian team could not win two World Cricket Championships
in 2023, then the main reason for this was Travis Head.
Travis Head made his debut in international cricket in the year 2022 in the T-20
series against India. 22 year old Head could not do anything special in that
series. No one doubted his talent but he was not able to convert that talent
into results consistently.
In 2018, he made his Test match debut and kept being in and out of the
Australian team. His fortunes truly changed after 2021 when he scored a century
in 85 balls in the Ashes match against England in Brisbane.
He scored 152 runs and won the title of Player of the Match. After that, he
started getting frequent opportunities to open in ODIs and he became the focal
point of Australia's batting plan.
In the final of the ODI World Cup in 2023, he scored 137 runs on 120 balls
against India and helped Australia become the world champion.
In the final of the Test Championship too, Travis Head played a match-winning
innings against India. His innings of 163 runs at the Oval in England also made
Australia the world champion in Test cricket and the Indian team once again
missed the mark.
Dinesh Karthik joins the Indian team?
Bengaluru needed a miracle in the end and Dinesh Karthik also wanted to do
something big in the match. Although RCB was far behind in terms of run rate and
wickets, Karthik did not lose courage and made 50+ partnerships first with
Mahipal Lomalor and later with Anuj Rawat.
Wickets were falling at the other end but it seemed as if Karthik was determined
to win the match alone.
Bengaluru needed a lot of sixes to win the match and Karthik made Hyderabad's
bowling struggle by hitting 7 sixes. Although he could not complete his work and
was out after scoring 83 runs in 35 balls, his innings won everyone's heart.
Praising his batting, Aaron Finch said that Karthik is making good use of the
crease and is batting deep inside the crease, due to which he is getting extra
time to make shots.
He also said that Karthik has applied for the role of wicketkeeper of the Indian
team in the T20 World Cup after playing a good innings for the second
consecutive time. According to commentators, Dinesh Karthik is currently at the
peak of his batting and he can be given a chance.
Danny Morrison also said that the Indian selectors will also discuss the names
of Karthik along with Sanju Samson, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant. Although it is very
difficult for Dinesh Karthik to be selected, having so many options for
wicketkeeper in the World Cup is a sweet headache for Indian cricket.
