The Mega Festival of India is going to start soon and people across the world will witness and enjoy it again like every year. Yes, you are thinking right it is Indian Premier League I.e IPL 17th edition.
The 17th edition of IPL is coming with lots of speculation, probability, improvement and emotions. This cup will come up with some questions also, will MS Dhoni retire this year or there can be one more “Definitely NOT” from Caption Cool?, will RCB make their first IPL trophy ? Who will be the captain of Mumbai Indians?Is Rishab Pant ready to make a comeback? And many more. All these speculations and emotion make this IPL worthy to watch and can be called as the Mega Festival of India.
Now, Let's take a glance at the teams of every franchise in which players are traded, purchased and released for this upcoming season.
Chennai Super Kings:-
CSK is a defending champion and five-time winning team, MS Dhoni has been the leader of the pack for this franchise since 2008. CSK is known for slogan “Whistle Podu” by its loyal fans. CSK added some amazing players and released few players due to various reasons, however CSK did not trade any player for this season. CSK retained the player, strengthened its middle order and included power hitter batter also. Chennai spent a total of Rs 30.4 Crore at 2024 auction in Dubai.
Mumbai Indians:-
Mumbai Indians is one of the most successful franchises which have entered in finals 6 times and won it 5 times which shows the morale of MI players. Rohit Sharma, the captain who always backs his players in the team. However this time Hardik will lead the Mumbai Indians who recently got traded from Gujarat Titan. MI also added quality players by spending Rs 16.7 Crore and released few players from the pack.
Royal Challengers Bangalore:-
Despite having top hitter, talented, classy player like ABD, Virat Kohli, Gayle, and many more unfortunately, luck not had been at the side of RCB and never took IPL title to its home however RCB was closes in 2016 to get but lost against SRH. But the fans of RCB are so loyal that every season they love this team in the same way. This team has won the hearts of millions of people. RCB spent Rs 20.4 Crore by adding players in its team. “Ee calla cup namde” is the hope for RCBian.
Lucknow SuperGiants:-
Lucknow Super Giants is a relatively new team introduced in 2022 but have lots of potential to give some thrilling matches in the back year. LSG led by KL Rahul spent Rs 12.20 Crore in the auction to add quality players.
Kolkata Knight Riders:-
KKR is the only team in the last 16 season that has won more than that and has won IPL more than once other than CSK, MI. KKR bagged this title 2 times. KKR have some interesting players in their pack and in the auction for this season KKR spent Rs 31.35 Crore and their biggest purchase is left hand bowler Stark.
Gujarat Titans:-
Other than Rajasthan Royals, Gujarat Titans is the only team who won their maiden title in the season 2022. Gujarat spent Rs 30.3 crore in the auction for this season. But, their Captain has been back to his Home team Mumbai team. Gujarat have all the players that a champion team needs.
Delhi Capitals:-
Delhi Daredevils is the former name of this team and has never won the title Many big names had been associated with this team but never won the title. DC spent Rs. 19.04 crore for this season.
Punjab Kings:-
Punjab Kings has also changed its name from Kings Eleven Punjab, has a strong fanbase but doesn't have a title at their name. Punjab Kings spent Rs 24.95 core for this season. PK has taken a chance on pacer Harshal Patel by spending Rs 11.75 crore on him.
Rajasthan Royals:-
RR is the first team to win IPL in the first season but after that it has not won any IPL. Rajasthan Spent Rs 14.3 crore to strengthen their team. This team is backed with amazing players in their dressing room.
SunRisers Hyderabad:-
Previously known as Deccan Chargers, SRH is the team which has a strong fanbase and has bagged IPL title in 2016 under David Warner captaincy. SRH spent Rs 30.80 crore out of which Rs.20.50 is used to buy World Cup 2023 winner Pat Cummins.
