National Selection Committee Chairman Ajit Agarkar has reached Delhi. He was seen at Arun Jaitley Stadium during the match between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians. It is being said in the reports that Ajit Agarkar can hold an informal meeting with Indian team captain Rohit Sharma regarding the possible 15-member team for the T20 World Cup to be held in West Indies and America.
T20 team to be declared by May 1:-
Actually, the last date for announcing the 15-member team for the T20 World Cup is May 1. It is understood that Ajit Agarkar had come to Delhi specifically for the IPL match played between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals on Saturday so that he could get a chance to interact with captain Rohit and consult with his colleagues to choose the final team. Things should be clear to them before meeting together.
There will be discussion regarding wicketkeeper also:-
There is a need for discussion regarding some places in the team. The most
important thing in this is the bowling fitness of Hardik Pandya. If Hardik gets
a place in the 15-member team, then only one among Shivam Dubey and Rinku Singh
can be given a place. The names of Sanju Samson and Lokesh Rahul will be
discussed along with Rishabh Pant for the option of wicketkeeper.
After recovering from injury, Pant is seen in a different form while Sanju has
also performed well in batting and captaincy this season.
Things are not clear even regarding bowling:-
Things are also not clear regarding fast bowling and spinners. While Jasprit Bumrah is in great form, the performance of experienced Mohammed Siraj in the IPL has not been good. There will be a competition for the third spinner of the team between Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi and Yuzvendra Chahal. Akshar's claim is stronger due to better batting skills.
